- There will be PvE servers that provide consensual PvP content, such as Battlegrounds and duels. There will also be PvP servers with world PvP. These PvP servers will also include Battlegrounds that provide specific PvP rewards.
- 22. How will I level up in TERA?
- Our goal is to make every action involved in leveling up organic to the overall story and the individual player and group/guild goals. Quests are the primary method for gaining experience. The pacing of the game and the leveling-up process is something we're constantly refining through our focus group tests and ongoing beta tests. Our production team is working very closely with the development team in Korea to ensure that the game feels good to Western audiences.
- 23. Will there be sieges?
- No; we've come up with something we think you'll agree is much cooler. Stay tuned in the coming months for more details!
- 24. Why isn't there a rogue class?
- Our choice of classes reflects how players tend to interact with each other in groups while playing MMOs, and the various roles they play (and variations thereof). The slayer and berserker are both damage-dealing classes, while the lancer and warrior are both tank classes. That being said, launch content in any MMO is just the beginning!
- 25. Is TERA an open-world or instanced game?
- TERA is an open-world sandbox game with certain instanced areas.
- 26. I've seen videos of TERA controlled with a gamepad. What's this about?
- TERA's action-combat gameplay lends itself to gamepad support very well, and we plan to support gamepads in the initial launch. We encourage everyone to try TERA with a gamepad. It just might grow on you!
- 27. What does Westernization mean, exactly? Are you just translating the Korean version?
- Westernization means taking the core Korean version of TERA and making it appeal to a more Western - specifically North American and European - audience. Audiences have different expectations of games in different parts of the world, and playing MMOs in Korea is a different kind of experience than playing them in the West. We have a team of writers who are fashioning the game's lore and plot, writing dialogue, and creating quests and story from the ground up. The game that will launch in North America will have significant differences from the Korean version.
- 28. Will you have region-specific servers?
- Our current plan is to have recommended servers for each region or country.
- 29. In which languages will TERA launch?
- Our current plan is to launch TERA in English, German and French.
- 30. How much say does En Masse Entertainment have in the development process? Do you just make cosmetic changes, or can you actually affect the development of the game?
- We have a very good relationship with Bluehole Studio, and collaborate with them all the time to create the best possible gaming experience for TERA's players. For example, feedback from the Focus Group Tests has led to changes in the game, and our producers' in-house expertise continues to help guide the development process.
