Once you've made it to level 60, you're finally in the end-game! It's at this point that you start dealing with boosting your character's effectiveness and working your way through gated content to get the best gear possible. Here we're going to look at the progression strategy for fresh 60's. If you've already got some of your better gear, that's fine! You'll still be able to follow along.

Armor and Weapons

Tier 11

You should already be here, in Tier 11. If not, that's not too big of a deal. You can get your Tier 11 by running pre-60 dungeons or by purchasing it on the auction house. The best dungeon for this is Ebon Tower.

Tier 12

Tier 12 is considered as the starter level 60 gear. This is what you'll be obtaining by running the level 60 dungeons. It's important to know that there are essentially two sets of gear. One of these is called the "sleeper set," which has higher stats than the enchantable gear's base stats, but it can not be enchanted. The most efficient path for gearing up is to skip the sleeper set and go straight for the enchantable. This will speed up the gearing process considerably.

As for the dungeons you will want to run at this point, they include:

  • Fane of Kaprima (armor)
  • Balder's Temple (weapons)
  • Temple of Temerity (badges for glyphs)

It's important to note that some groups in Temple of Temerity look down on those that are not overgeared for the challenge, as you can't kill all three BAM's within if you are not well geared. That said, most of the time this is not an issue.

You'll also want to make sure that you are running the normal versions of these dungeons, rather than the hard modes!

From this point, you will want to do one of two things: either enchant your T12 weapon to +9 or sell extra drops until you can afford to purchase your T13 weapon from the trade broker. This is really up to personal preference, however it is suggested to go ahead and sell all extra items and just buy the T13. After you've done this, you will want to enchant it to at least +5, but higher is better.

Tier 13

If you don't have your T13 gear yet (you chose to go with over-enchanting T12), you'll be farming your T13 at this point. This is done in the following dungeons:

  • Fane of Kaprima (Hard)
  • Balder's Temple (Hard)
  • Argon Corpus

As for enchanting fodder (items that are dissolved when you are enchanting your main items), you can also obtain them by taking part in the battlegrounds (which gives a currency that can be used to purchase T13 PvP items) and the Nexus, as well as by running these dungeons some more. The overall goal at this point is to get your gear up to at least +5, although higher is better.

Tier 14

For T14 gear, you will want to go to the following instances:

  • The raid instance after completing a Nexus
  • Manaya's Core
  • Argon Corpus (Hard)

As for enchanting fodder, you can obtain it by taking part in the Nexus raid instance, as well as running the above dungeons. Since T14 is the highest tier out right now, you will want to enchant this as high as possible. The best gear is the crafted gear, rather than dropped, but it will take a lot of work to earn, and the dropped should be more than enough for the near future, as long as you get it all enchanted to +9.

Crystals

When it comes to crystals, at level 60 there are actually three types: armor, weapon and accessory. This brings about a new set of crystals you can go for. The accessory ones are available either by doing daily quests (to earn reputation and special currency to purchase them with) or by getting them from another player (such as on the Auction House). They are also known as "zyrks."

The locations for the daily quests needed for both the reputation and the special currency is as follows:

It's important to know that you can use a total of up to four zyrks, depending on how many rings and earrings you get that have slots in them. Along with this, the zyrks are not unique, meaning that you can have multiple of the same type if you wish, allowing you to build up your character the way you need to.

It's also important to note that each type of crystals has two sets, of which one is weaker than the other but requires less reputation. Furthermore, you can only complete a total of 10 daily quests each day.

Conclusion

The basic path of gear progression in Tera requires not only getting each tier, but also enchanting it. Without doing so, the dungeons needed for better gear will be significantly more tough, and in some cases won't even be completable. Furthermore, groups within the game will also expect the players to be properly geared for each dungeon. As a result, the "required item level" the dungeon matcher has is not what you want to use to determine if you're geared enough yet. Instead, use the guide above to help find the dungeons you're ready for, as well as what your goal should be at the time. And remember, enchanting can be a very tedious process, but if you stick with it and don't give up, you will have your T14 gear and be set for whatever new content is to come in the future!
